as i age

no worries in my hot bathroom shower

i soap my face 

shampoo my hair

notice the slipping of another hour

as i age

but no worries as i get dressed in clean jeans

and pressed shirt

pull my belt not too tightly

as i did in my teens

and no worries as i sit down for lunch

the world news has been turned off completely

for many, many months now

because i had a hunch

the stories would be very unhealthy

as i age.
